Late Winter News!

This activity is suitable for all standards of play, with a strong focus on fun. Ollie has everyone running around and hitting lots of balls. AGMTuesday 17th March @ 19.30 at the Village Hall. All members are invited to attend and refreshments will be provided. After many years of service to LTC, Andrew is looking to step down from his role as Treasurer/Membership Secretary. His shoes will be difficult to fill and he has kindly agreed to help during the transition. This role is pivotal to the efficient running of the club and there is the potential to split the post and have both a Membership Secretary and a Treasurer.  Please can anyone who is interested to learn more about this position contact Andrew directly.

At the AGM it’s your opportunity to vote for the 2020 Committee. New committee members are most welcome and it would be great to have new faces at our meetings and help us run the club. Don’t hesitate to ask any current committee member for information!

Court Maintenance – A big thank you to Chris Bones who has done a sterling job clearing away the leaves throughout the winter. To help maintain the courts during the winter please continue to lower and lift the nets after play.

Many members will be aware that there have been problems with the floodlights. Thank you for your patience! The good news is that we now have new bulbs fitted for all lights and the electrician has identified the fault on Court 2. New parts have been ordered so the dodgy light should be fixed very soon. A reminder that tokens for the floodlights are available to buy from Paul Harradine (07912 513415) and lights must be switched off by 10pm.

Club Award – We’re thrilled to have been nominated for an award as a club which has made an outstanding contribution to Devon Tennis and the County Awards form the first tier of the LTA’s British Tennis Awards The announcement will be made at the Devon Tennis AGM & Awards Evening on 29th January.
